As part of our learning during Black History Month, Warner Elementary students were introduced to Norman Lewis, an artist well-known for abstract expressionism, and his painting “Harlem Jazz Jamboree” during art class. They have been collaborating with their classmates to create their own versions of “Harlem Jazz Jamboree” to bring lots of joy to their hallways!

We are so thankful for our cafeteria staff (and Mr. Webster) for helping us start our day strong! 💪 Eating breakfast before school can boost your energy, improve your concentration, and even help you remember more. Don't skip it! Mr. Webster gives it 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

✨ EVERYONE deserves the chance to fly! ✨ This summer we are ecstatic to welcome Broadway’s current Elphaba, MARY KATE MORRISSEY, to the ‘Love, Broadway’ stage! MARY KATE MORRISSEY is a musical theater actor, teacher, collaborator and creator who just reached her first mountaintop of playing Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway. During the pandemic she had a front row seat to the life changing power of musical theater through the creation of Double Name Witches: a virtual musical theater school that served as home to a 100+ community ages 5-30. She currently is on faculty at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio. MK spent a decade touring through 92 cities with Wicked (Elphaba), Mean Girls (Janis), and Hair (Sheila), before making her Broadway Debut last year as the Elphaba Standby. She’s passionate about the creation of new work and has had the opportunity to collaborate at the Public, Papermill Playhouse, Sundance Lab, Vineyard Arts, The O'Neill, Theatreworks Palo Alto, Portland Center Stage, Signature Theater in DC, and Denver Theater Center. During her time working on LOVE, BROADWAY, youth artists from across the Commonwealth can attend a masterclass taught by Mary Kate! More information to come! Join us Saturday, August 23rd for our third annual LOVE, BROADWAY BENEFIT CONCERT supporting arts education and programming in Jessamine County. Ticketing information for this event will be released this Friday! STAY TUNED this week as we continue to announce the guest artists that will be joining MK this summer! WANT TO PERFORM WITH MK? Are you an high school, college or adult artist interested in the opportunity to perform alongside our guest artists this summer? This isn’t everyone who helped with Friday's Sadie Hawkins Masquerade, but it’s a great start. We are incredibly grateful to everyone at RJ Corman who contributed to the preparation, supported us throughout the event, and stayed afterwards to help wrap things up. A big thank you to the teachers and administrators who chaperoned as well! It was amazing to bring the East and West sides together for such an important cause, Kerrington’s Heart. Normally, we’re in the same space competing, but tonight was all about unity. Thank you to everyone who made it a success!

We are Kentuckians and the recent flooding has devastated many in our state, including Pikeville. Coach Lawson and Mrs. Lawson from East Jessamine High are Pikeville natives, and have felt a deep calling to help the people of their hometown. We are joining their call to support one another during such a difficult time. In Jessamine County, we believe in being Connected Citizens by understanding the needs of others, giving back, and making a meaningful impact. This is more than just a collection. It’s about community, about showing compassion, and about using our resources to support those in need. We are collecting donations to support those affected, and we invite our entire Jessamine family to join us in this effort. Let’s fill a bus and share our love and kindness.
