There will be no school for students on Tuesday, May 19th, for Primary Election Day.
While our students enjoy the day off, our dedicated JCS staff will be hard at work! This is a required Staff Development Day, and our team will be participating in training and planning to continue providing the best experience for our students.
Enjoy the mid-week break, and we’ll see everyone back in the classroom on Wednesday! 📚

To the amazing team who preps healthy meals before breakfast and nourishes an entire school by lunch—we are incredibly grateful for our food service superheroes! 👏
They start their days early to ensure every student is fueled, focused, and ready to learn. In our deeply connected school family, they do so much more than make food—they serve up smiles and create a warm, welcoming environment where everyone knows they belong.
We are thrilled to announce that Jessamine County Schools has been named one of the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation! 🏆
This isn't just a one-time win—this marks our 7th consecutive year receiving this national recognition. Out of the entire Commonwealth, we are proud to be one of only 6 Kentucky districts to earn this honor.
This award celebrates our educators who go above and beyond to inspire, our talented students whose hard work and passion fill our schools with music, and our wonderful community that shares our belief that arts education is a vital part of student well-being and achievement .✨
Thank you to everyone who keeps the music playing in Jessamine County! 🎼
As we head toward the finish line, a shout-out to our incredible Custodial and Maintenance teams who keep our district running. 🔧
Whether it's late-night emergency repairs, 🌙deep cleaning every corner of our schools, 🧹or spiffing things up while classrooms are quiet during breaks, these teams are always hard at work and we appreciate them immensely!
Thank you for ensuring that our facilities are safe and functional for our students and staff year-round.
Big news! 📅 We’re officially crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s on our end-of-year schedule!
Proposed legislation to allow us to add minutes to the school day and finish the year earlier hasn't moved forward so we’ve officially locked in our end-of-year schedule.
📅The last day of school for JCS students will be Monday, June 1, 2026.
We’re ready to make every minute leading up to summer break count. Let’s finish this year strong!🤝
Be on the lookout for additional information about end of year celebrations!✨See you at the finish line! 🏁
Congratulations to The Providence School Teacher of the Year Patrick Simpson!🏆

Patrick doesn’t just embrace this mission; he lives it out loud every single day, showing up with energy, optimism, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.🙌
Patrick, thank you for being a constant source of support for your students, and for being a member of the JCS family.🌟

📚 Happy National School Librarian Day! 📖
Today, we are celebrating the incredible educators who transform our libraries into hubs of innovation, imagination, and discovery. Our librarians do so much more than check out books, they are:
✨Tech Wizards: Navigating the digital world and teaching vital research skills.
❤️Reading Champions: Finding the perfect book for even the most "reluctant" readers.
🏠Safe Harbors: Creating welcoming spaces where every student belongs.
🔥Curiosity Igniters: Supporting our teachers and fueling a lifelong love of learning.
Join us in saying THANK YOU! Shout out a librarian who has made a difference in your student's life.

Teresa's passion for teaching isn’t just a career, it’s a calling. She has a gift for meeting students where they are, making sure every child feels valued, challenged, and set up for success. In Mrs. Hearn's classroom, learning is more than a lesson, it's an adventure.🌟
Teresa, we're so glad that you're in our district family! Congratulations and thank you for the heart, energy, and expertise you bring to BES every single day.👏
