Together, we're making a difference! ❤️
We're thrilled to share that KCAL's Gospel Showcase benefit has raised $10,700 to support homeless students in our community—and contributions are still being accepted!
This incredible success would not have been possible without the hard work of the dedicated organizers at KCAL, the generosity of the performers, and the support of all who contributed. Your kindness ensures that every student has the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances.
Want to help? Donations are still welcome! To contribute, please contact Doug Fain at hdouglasfain@gmail.com
THANK YOU for making a lasting impact!
EJMS Admin Team started the week off right! Spreading Christmas cheer heading into the holiday break! Catch them each morning greeting EJMS students and staff!
Our West Middle and High band and choir programs played some holiday music for the 5th grade students from our elementary schools. It was so much fun!
What a cool experience for the EJHS Chorale! They visited FOX 56 to record a segment and got a behind-the-scenes look at TV station operations. You can catch their feature when it airs on Dec 24th at 11 pm and on Christmas Day between 5-6 & 9-10 am and 7-8 pm. We can't wait!💚💙
Amazing job! Congrats to our Girls on the Run students and coaches on completing their 5K at Keeneland! Events like this build confidence, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits. JCS is proud to support opportunities that help students thrive on and off the track!
A bittersweet celebration! 💛 We celebrated Cary York’s 2nd retirement on Tuesday.
She started her career at JC Middle School in 1985 and has worked a total of 39.5 years. 17 of those years were in the middle school, and the rest have been HS students. All years were spent in Jessamine County. She first retired in 2015 and then after her 90 days, she was back for more! She began long term subbing for JCTC and eventually stayed on part time until this 2nd retirement. Thank you, Cary, for the many student lives you have touched in your career! We will miss you!
Our staff highlight this week is a true gift to us all, no matter the season! Mr. Daugherty currently works alongside Mrs. Elliott in our front office, greeting parents and guests, making announcements and educating us all day long. He does so as a volunteer and expects nothing in return. His reliability, wisdom, and loyalty are second to none! He graduated from JCHS in 1967 and has been at WJHS "since it came into being" (in his own words). He was at Jessamine County Junior High and Jessamine County High School for 34 years prior to that teaching Political Science, World Civilization, Law & Justice and World Geography. Ms. Elliott says he has worked alongside her since 2006 and she has loved every moment! Mr. D says his favorite thing about West High is the sense of loyalty he feels to the school and the ability to work with such an incredible staff, some of those he was blessed to teach. We are so appreciative that Mr. Daugherty is a Colt!

It's the most wonderful time of the year....for holiday music! 🎹 Our talented students and arts teachers have been working hard to spread holiday cheer through song and melody. 🎤
Join us for our upcoming concerts to celebrate the season with the joy of live performances! 🎅🎄
Congratulations to Larry Fite and Crystal Spencer! They are November's driver and monitor of the month. Larry and Crystal are being recognized for their dedication, their care for their students and the work they put in toward building positive relationships with their students. Thank you both for what you do each and every day for JCS!
The internet may be out at East Middle, but that isn't stopping our 7th grade math teachers! Students learned about adding positive and negative numbers using hands on activities with a deck of cards! Great work Mrs. Winter and Mrs. Foster!
It's the 12 Days of Jagmas for our faculty and staff at East High!
On the first day of Jagmas, the EJHS admin gave to me...Candy-filled mugs! In addition, there's a mug decorating contest! Can't wait to see who the winner is on Monday!☕️🎄
Critical Thinking in Action!
WJMS students in Ms. Campbell's class took a deep dive into the effects of rising temperatures on water sources. 📚 After reading and annotating individual articles on the topic, they teamed up to share insights and collaboratively develop conclusions based on evidence and data. 👏 Great job building those analytical and teamwork skills!
Two Jag vocal groups brought holiday cheer to Kroger today with festive carols for shoppers! Thank you to EJMS's A Whole Lotta Treble and EJHS's Vocal Jaggs for sharing their gifts of talent, spreading joy through music and making the season brighter for all! #ConnectedCitizen
At this week's JCBOE meeting, the board recognized JCTC Special Education teachers for providing exemplary services to Special Education students in Career and Technical Education. These outstanding educators help JCS students reach concentrator and completer status at a much higher rate than other districts statewide. Congratulations to David Asher, Curt Jackson and Andy Block (not pictured)
JELV Friendsgiving! Living out the District Graduate Profile attribute of being a connected citizen. Ms. Fryman and Ms. Turner's Kindergarten classes collaborated with Ms. Whitaker's preschool classes to have a snack and do a craft together.
