AP Grind Season is here.💪🧠
Yesterday, AP Language & Composition students completed their first fully timed FRQ #2: Rhetorical Analysis — one of the toughest writing tasks on the AP Exam. In 40 minutes, they analyzed a 750-word nonfiction text and crafted a 4–5 paragraph essay using direct evidence, scored by the official College Board rubric. And that’s just one of three essays in a 2 hour, 15 minute exam. 😲
They’ve been building toward this since August. In a few weeks, they’ll take a full mock exam, and on May 13, 89 students will sit for the official AP English Language & Composition Exam.
Behind the scenes, many are balancing activities, jobs, family, and multiple AP courses. Late nights. Timed writes. Revision. Growth.
This is dedication. This is perseverance. We are so proud of our students rising to the challenge and earning college credit while still in high school.
Last week, Officer Wade joined Mrs. Foster’s forensic science class for some hands-on learning! 🕵️♂️👣 Students headed outside to study shoe imprints and learned how investigators track suspects using prints left behind. Thank you, Officer Wade, for making learning real-world and engaging!

🎉 Huge Congratulations to the Jessamine Mock Trial Team! 🏆
This past weekend in Louisville, KY, the Jessamine Mock Trial Team led by Mr. Hall competed at the state competition and delivered an incredible performance. Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork earned them an outstanding 3rd place finish in the State!
👏 We are so proud of these students for their perseverance, poise, and commitment to excellence. A big thank you to Mr. Hall for his leadership and to everyone who supported the team throughout their season. What an achievement!

Region draw is in- The Lady Colts take on Wayne- Monday- 6:30pm- @ Lincoln County High. The Colts take on Somerset Christian- Wednesday- 8:15pm- @ Pulaski County High School. Let's go Colts!
Colts win!! What a great night for Jessamine County and an amazing evening for West High.
The boys take the 46th District title in an 43-42 nail biter over the Jags. Jessamine County showed up and the Colts delivered.
District tournament team honors go to Kaden, Luk, and Gavin.
Both teams move on to the 12th Region Tournament- bracket reveal tomorrow.
