🐎❤️🩵 Colts making big moves! ❤️🩵🐎
Congratulations to our WJHS Juniors who have been accepted into the 2026 Governor’s Scholars Program this summer! Your hard work, determination, and COLT pride have truly paid off—we couldn’t be more proud of the way you represent WJHS! 🎉
We also want to give a huge shoutout to all of our students who applied. The Governor’s Scholars selection process is no small feat, and it takes courage and commitment to put yourself out there. That COLT spirit shows in each of you!
Keep doing big things, Colts! 💫

💚 Spreading strength across the community! 💚
Our Sources of Strength peer leaders had an amazing morning visiting Wilmore and Nicholasville elementary schools to share the excitement for our upcoming Color Run! Along the way, they also stopped by Central Office to connect with district staff.
Students shared what Sources of Strength is all about, what it means to them personally, and how it helps build positivity and connection in our schools. To top it off, they even led a quick (and competitive!) game of Rock, Paper, Scissors—congrats to Mr. U’Wren for taking down Mrs. Adams in the championship round! 🏆✊✋✌️
We’re proud of these leaders for representing WJHS and spreading strength wherever they go!

📐➕ Real-world math in action!
Mrs. Hudnall’s class put their skills to the test by using the Pythagorean Theorem and simplifying radicals to solve a fun (and very practical) problem—figuring out how long it took different people to walk to the snack shack from various distances and paths. 🍿
By calculating the shortest routes and comparing travel times, students got to see how math applies beyond the classroom—and maybe even found the fastest way to snacks along the way!

We hope Spring Break 2026 was everything you needed to recharge and refocus on the rest of our year! See you bright and early!

Before the break is over, we want to celebrate our amazing Librarian and Media Specialist, Molly Stevens!
Mrs. Stevens is always willing to jump in and help wherever she’s needed, keeping our library running smoothly and supporting both students and staff every day. Her kindness, patience, and positive attitude make a difference in our high school in ways big and small.
When she’s not at school, she enjoys reading, traveling, cross stitch, yoga, and spending time with her family. She also loves anything related to France and French culture, and has a special interest in mid-century modern style and antiques.
We are so grateful for all that you do, Mrs. Stevens and we hope you got to do some of your favorite things over spring break!

Happy Assistant Principals Week! 🎉
Today we celebrate the incredible leaders who keep our schools running smoothly every single day-Mr. Grant, Mr. Zeitz and Mrs. May. From supporting students and staff to handling the unexpected with grace, our assistant principals do it all—often behind the scenes.
Thank you for your leadership, your heart, and all the ways you show up for us each day—we appreciate you more than words can say!

We've made it to Spring Break, Colts! We hope everyone has a relaxing, safe week. See everyone back at school on Monday, April 13th!

Huge congratulations to Claire Marshall for earning 2nd Team All-State honors! 🏀✨
Your hard work, dedication, and leadership on the court have truly paid off—what an incredible achievement! We are so proud of you!

Sometimes the best way to recharge is with a little furry support 🐾💙
Today, the Jessamine County Animal Shelter visited WJHS, giving our students a chance to pause, smile, and de-stress with some adorable animals. From wagging tails to gentle cuddles, these special visitors brought comfort, joy, and a much-needed mental break during the school day.
Thank you to the Jessamine County Animal Shelter and our FFA students for sharing these sweet companions with us and reminding everyone just how powerful a little love can be! 🐶🐑🐥🐴

It's becoming a thing. West Gear Wednesday is back tomorrow! Go Colts!

Mrs. Bassett’s 9th grade Government and Civics class had the opportunity to create a piece of legislation and present it at the Kentucky Historical Society for the Project Citizen Showcase last week. Students did a great job sharing their proposed bill, the Adolescent Access to Mental Health Resources Act. All of the judges commented on how passionate the class was about helping others in their school and all across the state. Congratulations to Mrs. Bassett’s class on a job well done!
