🧬 In Ms. Davenport’s AP Biology classes, students put their problem-solving skills to the test during a virtual breakout activity focused on DNA replication!

Working together, they analyzed clues, applied their knowledge, and unlocked each step of the replication process — proving science learning can be both challenging and fun. Great teamwork and critical thinking in action at WJHS! #graduateprofile #criticalthinking

Congratulations to senior Ariana McLoney for scoring her 1,000th career point at the district game! This is an incredible accomplishment that reflects years of dedication, hard work, and leadership on and off the court.

Even more impressive — with Ariana reaching this milestone, all five members of the WJHS Lady Colts starting lineup have now surpassed 1,000 career points! What a special group of athletes and teammates who continue to leave their mark on our program.

Congratulations to our incredible swimmers who placed at State last Friday! Competing at that level is an achievement in itself — and bringing home placements makes it even more special!

We are so proud of the way you represented WJHS with class, sportsmanship, and heart. ❤️

And a huge well done to all of our swimmers who competed this season. Every lap, every meet, and every personal best contributed to an amazing year for our program.

🎓✨ Decision Day 2026 – We Need Your Help! ✨🎓
It’s almost time to celebrate the incredible Senior Class of 2026 at West Jessamine High School — and we want to make this year’s Decision Day the best one yet!

📅 May 18th (TENTATIVE DATE due to snow days)

Decision Day is our annual celebration honoring seniors and their plans after high school — whether that’s trade or technical school, military service, college, or entering the workforce. Every path deserves to be recognized and celebrated!

In past years, our generous parents and community members have made this event extra special through thoughtful donations. Last year alone, we received over $1,750 in donations from parents, which helped us create exciting prize drawings for our seniors!

We are asking for your support again this year. If you’re willing to contribute, please complete our survey and let us know how you’d like to help. (Donation ideas listed on form) We will gladly give your business a social media shoutout as a thank-you for your generosity!

🗓 Donation Deadline: May 11th
📍 Please bring donations to the Front Office or Guidance Office at WJHS

✈️ WJHS Takes on Boston at Harvard Model Congress!

West students are currently in Boston participating in Harvard Model Congress — the oldest and largest student-run government simulation conference in the United States! HMC gives high school students the opportunity to experience American government firsthand through immersive, hands-on learning. But their trip has been more than just committee sessions and debate! While in Boston, our students have:

📍 Explored history at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum
☕ Reenacted the legendary Boston Tea Party
🏠 Walked through history at Paul Revere House
🍰 Grabbed world-famous cannolis at Mike's Pastry
🎓 Enjoyed dinner and a Q&A session with Kentuckian and Harvard Law School student, Will Randolph

This experience is an incredible opportunity for our students to engage in civic leadership, deepen their understanding of government, and connect classroom learning to real-world history. We are so proud of the way they are representing WJHS — learning, leading, and making memories in one of America’s most historic cities! ❤️
