Wrapping up Assistant Principals Week with someone truly unforgettable...Mr. David Riddle! Mr. Riddle is the kind of leader every school needs: grounded, compassionate, and always ready with just the right movie quote to lighten the mood. His sense of humor lifts spirits, but it’s his ability to truly listen, problem-solve, and connect with all that sets him apart. Whether he’s helping navigate behavior challenges or just being a collected presence in the middle of a hectic day, Mr. Riddle leads with heart and purpose. Students respect and trust him because they know he sees them, hears them, and believes in them. We’re so thankful for all that he brings to East: the laughter, the wisdom, and the steady leadership.

GAME DAY!!!

We are so proud of our students who were accepted into the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA)!!Your creativity, dedication, and hard work have earned you this incredible opportunity, and we can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish this summer. To everyone who auditioned, whether you were selected or not, we are proud of you. It takes courage to put yourself out there, to share your art, and to chase your dreams. GSA is one step on a journey, not the destination. Keep creating, keep growing, and know that your talent and voice matter.
We celebrate all of you today!

Ms. Helton wears many hats as our building assessment coordinator and curriculum lead, but she is so much more than her title. She’s a steady presence who listens with compassion, provides honest and thoughtful feedback, and always finds time for students and staff. With her background in science education, Ms. Helton brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to every conversation. She anticipates challenges before they arise and brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to everything she does. She’s also a huge animal supporter and that nurturing nature shines through in the way she supports our school community. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team!

Some of the girls were able to have their very FIRST team practice today on the new turf fields! Getting ready for our first home game next week! 💚💙💚💙🥎

As we continue to recognize our assistant principals this week, we want to celebrate Mr. Ledford! This is his 9th year in education and his 7th year at East Jessamine High School. Before stepping into his current role, Mr. Ledford was a social studies teacher then an instructional coach. Both of these roles gave him a strong foundation for supporting both students and staff. He’s calm, consistent, and always willing to help, whether it’s problem-solving with a student, encouraging a teacher, or keeping things running smoothly. Mr. Ledford brings a steady presence to our school, and we’re so thankful for everything he does behind the scenes.

It’s National Assistant Principals Week, and we couldn’t let it pass without shouting out the incredible leadership team that helps make East Jessamine High School feel like home. Mr. Ledford, Ms. Helton, and Mr. Riddle are the perfect balance of leadership, support, and strength. They lead with heart, stand firm when needed, and always put students first. Each of them brings something unique to our school, but together, they’re a powerhouse of guidance, consistency, and care. Thank you for your steady presence, your high expectations, your listening ears, and your dedication. We’re better because of you.

No school this week! Happy Spring Break! Take this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the things you love. Whether you're traveling, spending time with loved ones, or just catching your breath, we hope your break is filled with joy and relaxation!
