Our SOS leaders met with 5th graders at Red Oak today to talk about Sources of Strength and the upcoming color run!

Whew! Keep it up, Jaguars!

GAME DAY!!!

Ms. Adkins' World Civilizations class is diving into the battles of World War I this week, exploring the trenches, strategies, and turning points that shaped history. Through a mix of notes and interactive videos, students are engaging with the material in a dynamic way, making the past come alive right in the classroom. It’s more than just dates and facts; it’s about understanding the human experience behind the headlines. Great work, Ms. Adkins, for helping students connect with history in meaningful and memorable ways!

We saw a lot of yellow and green today! Tomorrow, we’re looking forward to a wave of blue and turquoise as we celebrate physical health and healthy activities, key sources of strength and resilience. So don’t forget to wear your Jaguar Blue and show your support for wellness as we gear up for Friday’s Color Run! Let’s keep the momentum going, Jaguars!

Last week, we celebrated our amazing CRA, Kelly Helton, for National Assistant Principals Week—and highlighted her love for animals. Today, she lived that out once again.Ms. Helton, a former biology teacher, found a Polyphemus moth in distress on the front steps of our school. She brought it inside to warm up, making sure it was okay before gently releasing it in a nearby wooded area. Polyphemus moths are large, beautiful silk moths with striking eyespots on their wings. Though they only live a few days as adults, they’re a rare and magical part of nature. Just another example of Ms. Helton’s kind heart and thoughtful leadership, always looking out for those in need!

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and today, some of our seniors helped raise awareness by planting blue and silver pinwheels on campus. These pinwheels, part of the national Pinwheels for Prevention campaign, symbolize the happy, healthy childhoods every child deserves. Their display serves as a visual reminder of our community’s commitment to protecting children and promoting awareness.

Some of our Sources of Strength peer leaders visited Brookside Elementary today to talk about SOS & the upcoming Color Run! We are so excited for Friday!

Way to go, Jags! Today’s attendance and yesterday’s attendance surpassed our goals!
