The last delivery of Kindness Grams is finally out! Sources of Strength Peer Leaders have been working diligently over the past month to make sure every student and every staff member has a hand written, personalized, encouraging note, with a sweet treat attached 🍭 In total, 1,000+ Kindness Grams were sent to classrooms over the past few weeks, with the emphasis around Kindness Week. Your children are some of the kindest out there, and we are so thankful to have them at East! 🐆 💚💙
Soccer season is here! The boys' team has their first friendly match Friday!
Our annual Black History Month program was a success! We are so grateful and proud of our student leaders. We also heard from our 6th grade choir and 7th grade band, and welcomed back our good friend: speaker, rapper, and author Devine Carama. Today, and every day, we are proud to be Jaguars. Welcome to another wonderful week - the last one in February and the first day of March. As usual, there are many opportunities for you to get involved in what's happening at our school this week, whether that's coming to cheer on the girls in their match against West or viewing our school assembly online (link TBA) or joining us for the African American Read-in on Thursday evening. Another successful Club Day in the books!
Cupcake Wars! This was a collaborative effort between 8th grade Stem and FCS classes. Students had to design their theme, build the set, bake and decorate cupcakes, and present to a rigorous team of judges!

8th grade night at Volleyball!
EJMS FOOTBALL: Tomorrow we will be offering our first Winter Workouts after school on the practice field at the Middle School until 5:30
All players who will be in 7th or 8th grade next year and plan on joining the football team this year are highly encouraged to participate!
They will need to bring weather-appropriate clothes (it should be 60+ degrees tomorrow). They will drop clothes off in the weight room in the morning where they will stay until they change clothes after school.
If your player has football cleats, they should bring those, if not, please bring tennis shoes.
Please also bring a water bottle and make sure it is filled up before getting to the field.
Also, check Final Forms to be sure your player has a physical on file with the school within the last 12 months. That link is posted on this message.
NOTE: We will be inviting incoming 5th & 6th graders to join us for Spring Conditioning after Spring Break in April.

We hope that you and your students have enjoyed the long weekend. As usual, we've got a busy week at EJMS including the beginning of track with practice and a parent meeting Tuesday. We're also excited to continue seeing our hallways come alive in a celebration of all of the contributions and stories of Black Americans. Be sure to check out next week's newsletter for some pictures of those. We'll end the week with our Glow Dance and can't wait to see all of our students decked out and ready to have fun on Friday.
